A Great (not one but) Three Trunk Show - with Kay Nickols

This exciting new process will amaze all quilters. There is but one fabric used to make a whole top. There is finally a new way to view and use the wonderful wallpaper stripe fabrics for great designs. This quick and easy process will lead to many new creations. The lecture includes a 3 trunk show of Kay´s quilts using this great technique.

Workshops:

Wonderful 1 Fabric Quilts - Full day class

This is a very new process to make a queen quilt top using but one fabric. Students will be delighted designing fun quilts with a few magic cuts and arrangements. This top is made with one fabric which eliminates the frustration of matching a number of fabrics. A great quilt to have fun quilting and learn about design. Students can expect to nearly complete the top. There is no need matching fabric, pinning layers, or special tools.

Rotary cutting and piecing experience required.

Wonderful 1 Fabric Quilts - 3 hour class

This new process will amaze all level of quilters. There is but one fabric used to make the whole quilt. There is finally a new way to view and use the wonderful wall paper stripe fabric for great designs. This quick and easy process will lead to a one of a kind creation. The quilter could also make a small lap quilt. There are no special tools, pinning of layers, or matching fabrics. This is a half day class and the wall hanging should be completed.

This wall hanging is created using but one fabric. The beautiful border prints are cut to show a variety of finished designs. Students learn to piece curves without pinning. This time honored favorite is made using templates. This lovely wall hanging will be completed in class. Come learn a time honored design using curves.

Logistics:

Lectures/Trunk Shows:

$400 plus expenses

Workshops:

$35/quilter for 3 hour and half day classes;
$45/quilter for whole day class
(15 students maximum in a 6 hr session)

I do make multiple days available in the area so every quilter has an opportunity to make a great quilt. Students will require 1/2 to 1 full standard size tables (NOT, narrow "half tables") for workspace. They are handling a lot of yardage. There must be wall space for design cloths. There must be adequate electrical outlets for sewing machines and a couple of irons.

Miscellaneous:

All travel expenses are to be paid by the sponsor: mileage (per current IRS rate), airline from Lansing, Michigan, shuttle/taxi, food and lodging.

Book sales revenue is not split with the sponsoring organization.
